I reserve this section for musical potions ;)

The real potions I will post os the spells section.

The official name of the band is

TRANSSYLVANIA PHOENIX

(but the romanians know them as "Phoenix")

Invocatie - Invocation

Norocul Inorogului - The Luck of the Unicorn

- The band is born in 1962 at the Second Medium School from Timisoara and is initially called SFINTII. After a year the name is changed into PHOENIX.

- In 1968 they work with the State theatre from Timisoara in staging the first Romanian rock opera: "Omul 36/80".

- On November 19th 1973 at the Sala Palatului a concert Sfinx + Phoenix takes place, with an audience of approximately 3000 spectators. In this show are presented for the first time (in Bucharest) new songs like "Andrii Popa", "Mica Tiganiada", songs which will be part of their second LP, "Mugur de fluier" (introduction to a concert about the old Romanian music). The album appears in 1974.

- In the winter 1974-1975, they work on a new show and album. Initially called Zoosophia, it will later become "Cantafabule" (on the cover of the Electrecords double album there will wrongfully write Cantofabule). After long "debates" with the Council of culture the album will appear in 1975.

- In 1975, at the director Sergiu Nicolaescu request, they compose the music for the movie Nemuritorii.

- In 1975 the band has a unique concert on the ruins of the Sarmisegetusa fortress with a group of drummers (dubasi) from the village Faget.

- In 1977, after the earthquake from march 4th, the band participates in the campaign to help the victims, performing, among other places, on Campia Libertatii from Alba Iulia

After a series of concerts throughout the country (with full stadiums), the members of the band "disappear".

- Hidden in the Marshall speakers of their sound system they run out of the country (except Mircea Baniciu, who didnt show up), and they go to RFG.

- 1980, PHOENIX is awarded the "DEUTSCHE PHONOAKADEMIE" prize.

- May 1990 Covaci meets the Romanian public after a 13 years absence, attending a festival held at the "Childrens Palace", where he sang only with M. Baniciu a few known old songs. Surprisingly all the audience, where most where born after the band has left the country, sings with the two, proving they know all the lyrics, word by word. The next day a concert held by friends takes place. In the same year PHOENIX sings at Paris in "La cigalle" and prepares the first tour in Romania with the same composition as in the 70s. They record in the formula: Covaci, Baniciu, Kappl, Neumann and Lipan.

- 1992 Covaci produces an artistically high ranked record implying the well known Romanian choir "Song" and the Radio Bucharest Symphonic Orchestra, disc entitled "Symphoenix"

- 1998 PHOENIX goes on a giant tour in major Romanian cities and they stage the "Cantafabule" album, using ballet, costumes, video and movie projections, highlighted by a huge sound and lights installation.

- 2001 the new record, entitled "La umbra marelui urs", is released, together with an English version "In the shadow of the big bear", interpreted by the former "Black Sabbath" bassist, Malcolm J. Lewis.
